Overview

This visa allows international students to study in Australia.

Basic Eligibility requirements

• You must be 6 years or older.
• You must be enrolled in a full-time CRICOS-registered course of study in Australia.
• Your English ability must be equivalent to at least IELTS band 6 in the 2 years before you apply for the student visa, unless exemptions apply.
• If you are applying for a student visa and you are under 18 years of age, you must have adequate welfare arrangements in place while you are in Australia.
• You must have sufficient funds to pay for your stay in Australia.
• You must be a genuine student and be able to show an understanding that studying in Australia is the primary reason of your student visa.
• You must have adequate health insurance.
• You must meet the health and character requirements.
• You can be in or outside Australia when you apply for the visa.
