Overview

This visa lets children adopted outside Australia live in Australia with their adoptive parent.

Basic Eligibility requirements

• You must be under 18 at the time of adoption, when the application is submitted and when the Department of Home Affairs makes decision.
• You must be sponsored by an eligible adoptive parent or prospective adoptive parent.
• You must be be adopted or in the process of being adopted by your sponsor parent.
• You must meet the health and character requirements.
• You must be outside Australia when you apply for this visa.
