Skillselect Invitation issued in January 2021
Invitation rounds for Skilled Independent visa (subclass 189) and Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 491) – Family Sponsored visas.
The 2021 first invitation round results for Skilled Independent Visa (subclass 189) and Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) Visa (subclass 491) – Family Sponsored has been released recently. The total number of invitations is greater than the number issued in last invitation (October 2020).
The table below shows the number of invitations issued in the SkillSelect invitation round on 21 January 2021.

According to the latest invitation results, the Department mainly issued the invitations to the following occupations:
- Registered Nurse
- Other Medical Practitioners
- Psychologists
- Internal Medicine Specialists
- Geologists
- Mining Engineers
- Other Engineering Professions
The minimum points score was 65 points for both visa subclasses. The latest EOI for a 189 visa was effective from April 2020, while the most recent EOI for a 491 visa was from November 2020.

When is the next invitation round?
The Department will run quarterly invitation rounds for the remainder of 2020-21 program year. The next invitation round will run in April 2021.
