Work and Holiday Visa Subclass 462

 

Overview

This Temporary Visa is for young adults who want an extended holiday and to work in Australia to fund it.

 

Basic Eligibility requirements

1. First Work and Holiday visa

  • You must be a citizen of and hold a valid passport from one of the following countries (Argentina, Austra, Brazil, Chile, China, Czech Republic, Ecuador, Greece, Hungary, Indonesia, Israel, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Mongolia, Peru, Poland, Portugal, San Marino, Singapore, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, Uruguay, USA, Vietnam).
  • You must be aged 18 to 30 years old (inclusive) when you apply.
  • You must not have previously entered Australia on a Working Holiday visa (subclass 417) or Work and Holiday visa (subclass 462).
  • You must meet the education requirement.
  • Your English ability must be equivalent to IELTS band 4.5, unless exemptions apply. 
  • You must provide a letter of support from your government if you are from Ecuador, Greece, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mongolia, Peru, Poland, San Marino, Slovenia, Thailand and Turkey. 
  • You must have enough money to support yourself.
  • You must meet the health and character requirements.
  • You must be outside Australia when you apply for the visa.

     

    2. Second Work and Holiday visa

    • You must have previously entered Australia on a subclass 462 visa.
    • You must be a citizen of and hold a valid passport from one of the following countries (Argentina, Austra, Brazil, Chile, China, Czech Republic, Ecuador, Greece, Hungary, Indonesia, Israel, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Mongolia, Peru, Poland, Portugal, San Marino, Singapore, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, Uruguay, USA, Vietnam).
    • You must be aged 18 to 30 years old (inclusive) when you apply.
    • You must have completed 3 months of specified subclass 462 work.
    • You must have enough money to support yourself.
    • You must meet health and character requirements.
    • You can be in or outside Australia when you apply for the visa.

     

    3. Third Work and Holiday visa

    • You must have previously held 2 subclass 462 visas in Australia.
    • You must be a citizen of and hold a valid passport from one of the following countries (Argentina, Austra, Brazil, Chile, China, Czech Republic, Ecuador, Greece, Hungary, Indonesia, Israel, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Mongolia, Peru, Poland, Portugal, San Marino, Singapore, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, Uruguay, USA, Vietnam).
    • You must be aged 18 to 30 years old (inclusive) when you apply.
    • You must have completed 6 months of specified subclass 462 work.
    • You must have enough money to support yourself.
    • You must meet health and character requirements.
    • You can be in or outside Australia when you apply for the visa.
