Working Holiday Visa Subclass 417

 

Overview

This Temporary Visa is for young adults who want an extended holiday and to work in Australia to fund it.

 

Basic Eligibility requirements

1. First Working Holiday visa

  • You must be a citizen of and hold a valid passport from one of the following countries or jurisdictions (Belgium, Canada, Republic of Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China, Republic of Ireland, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea,  Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Taiwan (other than an official or diplomatic passport), The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland).
  • You must be within the eligible age limit for your passport country (Usually from 18 to 30 years old, or 35 years old form some countries). 
  • You must not have previously entered Australia on a Working Holiday visa (subclass 417) or Work and Holiday visa (subclass 462).
  • You must have enough money to support yourself.
  • You must meet the health and character requirements.
  • You must be outside Australia when you apply for the visa.

 

     

    2. Second Working Holiday visa

    • You must have previously entered Australia on a subclass 417 visa.
    • You must be a citizen of and hold a valid passport from one of the following countries or jurisdictions (Belgium, Canada, Republic of Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China, Republic of Ireland, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea,  Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Taiwan (other than an official or diplomatic passport), The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland).
    • You must be within the eligible age limit for your passport country (Usually from 18 to 30 years old, or 35 years old form some countries). 
    • You must have completed 3 months of specified subclass 417 work.
    • You must meet health and character requirements.
    • You can be in or outside Australia when you apply for the visa.

     

    3. Third Working Holiday visa

    • You must have previously held 2 subclass 417 visas in Australia.
    • You must be a citizen of and hold a valid passport from one of the following countries or jurisdictions (Belgium, Canada, Republic of Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China, Republic of Ireland, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea,  Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Taiwan (other than an official or diplomatic passport), The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland).
    • You must be within the eligible age limit for your passport country (Usually from 18 to 30 years old, or 35 years old form some countries). 
    • You must have completed 6 months of specified subclass 417 work.
    • You must meet health and character requirements.
    • You can be in or outside Australia when you apply for the visa.
